In a just society cannabis would not be a crime

innocent criminal 27/4/09

 I am facing a charge of supplying cultivation equipment/material and class 'C' possession. In December 2008, It is alleged that I gave a customer advice on how to use equipment needed to cultivate cannabis, how to propagate cannabis plants, and how to identify a female plant. The customer purchased a book on hydroponics from me. On tuesday I was arrested and upon being searched I was found to be in possession of a small wooden pipe and less than a gram of cannabis.

let me get this straight?

I take it from your summary you were swept up in the dragnet of Operation Lime.  This all sounds very odd, but so does everything right now, but let me just clarify a few things so we can start picking apart the case.
They came to arrest you on the charge of supplying equipment and then while they were arresting you they found what they allege to be cannabis/utensils?
Did they have any sort of search warrant for any buildings or vehicles or were they just planning to arrest you on the supplying equipment charges?
As for the original charge, they will need to prove that you fully intended to supply the equipment for the sole purpose of cannabis cultivation.  If there is any reasonable doubt that you may not have known that the customer would use it for that or if they may have said it but you didn't really believe them and thought they were joking around then the police would have a hard time convincing a jury to convict.  Also if you had evidence that you had completed a buch of legitimate slaes where the customers hadn't cultivated cannabis then that would be good evidence that on balance the overall intention of your actions was lawful.  Make sense?

Yep Operation lime. They only

Yep Operation lime. They only arrested me on the supply of equipment/material charge but upon being searched at the station I was found to allegedly have cannabis/utensils on me and they subsequently charged me with possesion too.
 A lot of customers would come in for advice on pest control for their house plants, or to buy pots or fertiliser etc, and generally just talk about things like vege gardening. But all of the hype has made the store out to be a one stop dope shop, when it wasn't at all.

Lawyers

I have been granted legal aid and was appointed a lawyer to represent me regarding operation lime. Do I have to stick with this lawyer or can I choose someone else and still qualify for assistance?

Lawyers

You are able to change lawyers at anytime. If you feel like your appointed lawyer does not represent your will or is trying to pressure into a guilty plea, you are free to fire them at any time.
Because Operation Lime is so Dubious regarding the legallity of police actions, it is definitelly worth challenging the charges, preferably in front of a Jury. To do so you must continue to enter 'No Plea' or 'Not Guilty". Ideally the entire staff of SOG and the others arrested should follow this same approach.
Also make sure wether or not you are required to pay back you legal aid bill.
